The best EMS system in the country: new EMSAC President Tom Anderson
My name is Tom Anderson, and I am your newly elected EMSAC President. I served for the past 2 years as Vice President, and 10 years as region representative on our board from Region 7. I am currently the Administrative Supervisor for the AMR Canon City Operation.
I began my EMS career in 1989, as an EMT, then EMT -Intermediate and received my paramedic in 1997. I am Chair of the Southern Colorado RETAC, and President of the Fremont County EMS Council.
I am proud to have been elected as President of EMSAC and help continue the progress EMSAC has made in the past several years to better the EMTS system. My goals as president are for EMSAC, on behalf of our members,to ensure we have the best EMS system in the country.
This involves the great work our advocacy committee does each year at the State Capitol. The education our committees produce EMSAC’s Colorado State EMS Conference and the Colorado EMS Educators Symposium, which is second to none. The membership committee works hard to make sure our members get the best deal for their money. The communications committee continues to put out information such as the EMU, and social media posts. The awards committee puts on a special night of honoring our peers for a job well done each year.
As you can see we depend on a bunch of dedicated people to run the organization and make EMSAC successful. It is my privilege to be associated with this group of volunteers. Please consider taking some time to volunteer on a committee. Consider becoming an individual, group, or sustaining member which helps fund our advocacy group. It takes help from everyone to make this a great organization.
Again, thank you for your vote, and I look forward to seeing you at the Colorado State EMS Conference at Keystone Resort in November.
